This morning, before walking, we went to Walmart to have the oil changed in the car. Outside the door of Walmart, Brandon walked up to Pastor Chick and shook his hand. He had seen the news, learned about the walk, and said “You are such an inspiration to me!”

Before Freedom Walker started walking, we met Joe, who had seen him in the news.

As I was sitting in the car waiting at an exit, Sandra drove up. She had seen Freedom Walker walking another day and asked if the man walking is my husband? She expressed her support of this walk.

At the same exit, I met Jody, who stopped and asked if I was walking. She had seen Freedom Walker approaching the exit and accepted a card so she could read more about the walk.

After the walk, we stopped to eat at the same buffet we ate at yesterday. As we approached the register to pay before eating, there was a young man standing nearby. We asked if he was waiting to go to the register and he said he was not. When we went on up to pay, the young man, named Singh, walked up and said he is paying for our meal! It turns out that he is a truck driver who Freedom Walker saluted and he was moved to buy our lunch!

While in the restaurant, we met Leonard, who also had seen Pastor Chick in the news. There were a couple of other people that recognized him as well, and wished us well. One group of people asked “Are you the one that is walking across the country on a prayer walk?”
