UPDATE: Sister Barbara and Pastor “Chick” Make Plans

UPDATE, May 20, 2015: Sister Barbara is returning to Uganda because of a need in our natural health clinics there. One of our dear friends in the faith has volunteered to accompany her on this mission. I expect my wife to be gone 6 months to a year, depending on the success of her efforts.

Now, I am not likely to be walking any long distances without support. If any of you brothers are available to drive my support vehicle, let me know. I am also available for some speaking engagements if any would want to check with their pastors or church boards.

I am presently working on the flag promotion for submission to the National Museum of American History — Smithsonian Institute. If you have any political connections which might be helpful in this endeavor, please contact me. The Smithsonian staff explained to me that few submissions are accepted, so I must “sell” them on the historic value of my American flag.

While we visited with Barney in Long Beach, we met several people that took interest in the (now completed) walk.

Dr. Ralph Ernest, who is 85 years old, was very interested. He is a walker himself, which has contributed to his good health.

After departing from Long Beach (much later in the day), we stopped for lunch and met Ann and Carolyn, who asked if this is the beginning or end of the walk. They said “We are proud of you!”

Also Marie & Gary Trammell expressed their interest and support.

One last picture of Dr. Barney and Pastor “Chick” together – and the cross that Barney gave him.

After the walk, we drove to Long Beach, California, where Barney Musselman put us up.

While there, we met Jerry, who is a homeless man. He has a very organized cart that he pushes around, prepared to collect trash and recyclable items.

In between chiropractic appointments, Dr. Barney Musselman worked on Pastor “Chick”‘s legs. It was very painful, as the muscles were very tight and knotted. But, today, he walks much more normal. Thank, Dr. Barney, for the treatment.

Before we left Long Beach, we had a super breakfast at Mi Casa.

Pastor “Chick” stops to hug and kiss his wife, Barbara, then runs into the ocean and back out!

The coast to coast walk is now completed!

Pastor “Chick” stands the American flag in the sand. A crowd gathers around as Pastor “Chick” gives a speech, reads from the Holy Bible, and gives the final prayer for this national prayer walk.

Tressy, who became very excited, when she first met Pastor “Chick” along the road, was still very excited!

With Tressy came her friends, James, Lee, and Gary. Pictured with them is Bill White, who asked what he walked for. He said “That’s a heck of an effort!”

Regina and Dan McGrath have been supporters since they met Freedom Walker on the road. Dan wanted to be at the Pier, but could not. Regina drove many hours to reach there.

A group, including some that just met Pastor “Chick”, stood with him at the end of Route 66 sign.

A woman who just met us asked if she could hold the flag.

Jody Mueller, from Idyllwild, California, joined us for the second half of the walk, as we walked into Santa Monica and to Santa Monica Pier!
