This morning we drove back east to Thoreau, New Mexico because Pastor Chick was invited yesterday to visit a church where they feed the homeless breakfast. On the way, we saw the beginnings of a beautiful sunrise.

As we were looking for the correct place, Cross-Country Flagman met some people interested in the walk.

At the church, we met a couple of self-sacrificing ladies, who were there to prepare breakfast for all who came by – Louise Begay and Carol Pinto. They agreed enthusiastically with our causes.

As we were leaving we met Personna and Chevelle Edsitty, as they were going in, who were also interested in the walk.

Before leaving, Tyrone asked for our card, learned about the walk, and told us about Thoreau. He and Lyle agreed with what Pastor Chick said and wished us a safe and successful trip.

First we met Ronald Martinez, who was walking along the road the opposite direction. Then we met George along Rt. 66, who stopped to take a picture. Johnny and Diane James met us at the finish line. They were excited to hear about the walk.

When we stopped to eat, Burly and Frank took an interest.

We met Donald as we were driving back to the motor home. He told us he had 15 more miles to walk today.

It was a blessing to have more people express an interest today!
