Somehow I missed most that showed interest today, but I did get a picture of Freedom Walker talking while one vehicle stopped.

Freedom Walker and Barbara were warmly welcomed to Overland Park City Hall.

DJ Curtis and Jeanette Mellske were the first to meet him. Sean Reilly, Communications Manager was next. He had read our website and is very supportive of our cause.

Mayor Carl Gerlach was not able to be there, but he sent his welcome and appreciation for what we are doing.

City Manager, Bill Ebel, gave Freedom Walker an official City of Overland Park coin and Barbara a City of Overland Park pin because Overland Park is my hometown. These were given on behalf of Mayor Gerlach.

City Manager, Bill Ebel, received the 40 day prayer guide, on behalf of the mayor, for the City of Overland Park, Kansas.

The first person to stop and express interest was Stacie. She said she will do all she can to promote our cause in the KC area.

A man stopped briefly and told him that he just passed by a radio station – and that station was talking about him on the air!

Diane had followed him, as she tried to catch up with him. She really wanted to meet and talk with him.

I received a phone call from Mary who saw him walking from across the street. She had difficulty reading the sign on his back, but finally did find the website – and phone number. She called to express her support, saying “Yeah!”

A photographer for the KC Star saw him walking and stopped him to take pictures and learn more about the walk. She said three things impressed her to stop:
1. He is an older gentleman.
2. He looks official.
3. He salutes everyone, showing that he has been in the military.
After talking to him, she was really glad she stopped.

Today, as Pastor “Chick” walked through Overland Park, we saw some beautiful fall colors.

We both walked by South Lake Park, where we used to walk. We also walked by the Memorial Aviation Park and took a picture of the sign.
