Today Pastor Chick, with Daniel Contestabile, walked 15.7 miles.

They had some roadside encounters, few of which I have photos.

There was a woman that stopped in the middle of the traffic lane and said “I want to buy your breakfast!”

A policeman in Cushing stopped to encourage the walkers and be sure they would be safe.

A couple of women stopped to take pictures.

Jim Perry, of Cushing Citizen, met them to take pictures and collect some information.

City Manager Steve Spears gave both of them a City of Cushing key chain.

Our first interest came before Freedom Walker and Daniel started walking. Gene Robertson, who is from Drumright, OK, said this country needs to turn around and get back to its founding documents.

While talking, we stepped inside to look at a newspaper, and several men sitting inside also showed interest.

In Drumright, two paramedics, Stephen and Thomas, stopped to learn the reason these two men were walking and carrying their flags. They are supportive of our causes and wished them both well.

Ladeana White came out of her business to take pictures and offer something to drink. She is very excited and has been sharing her pictures and what she learned with many others.

As the three of us ate, Daniel thought he overheard a youth asking if they were going to pray. Then we heard them praying, which opened the door for conversation with two families eating in the restaurant. One of them said “If you don’t have God in your life, you don’t have anything!”.

As Pastor “Chick” was paying for our meal, Vickie was astonished to learn about this trek.

Today, Freedom Walker walked 13 miles. He was accompanied the whole distance by Daniel John Contestabile. The two met in the Guthrie, OK area, as Freedom Walker walked from the East Coast and Daniel walked from the West Coast. Their basic calling and goal are the same and they plan to continue together for a more days before each continues on their respective treks. The flag that Daniel is carrying says “Appeal to Heaven”.

Christine, with the Drumright Gusher (newspaper) took pictures and made sure she had basic information on both of them. She said “I think this is great what you guys are doing!”

As they completed their thirteen miles, they were met by photographer, Gary, taking pictures.
